Professor Clark Bray

Clark Bray is an Associate Professor of the Practice in the Department of Mathematics at Duke University. He graduated from Rice University in 1993, cum laude, with majors in Mathematics and Physics, and finished his Ph.D. in Mathematics at Stanford University in 1999, studying algebraic topology with Professor Gunnar Carlsson.

He has taught courses in multivariable calculus at Stanford University and Duke University. At Stanford, he was the primary instructor for the freshman mathematics sequence (including single variable calculus, linear algebra and multivariable calculus) from 2000-2004. As an Associate Professor of the Practice at Duke, the majority of his duties and intellectual energy are dedicated to his teaching, in which he takes great pride and personal satisfaction. In addition to extensive experience teaching multivariable calculus to majors in the sciences and engineering, he was a designer of a new and highly successful course in multivariable calculus for economics majors, which he then taught from 2007 to 2011.

He and his family live in Hillsborough, NC.
