Week 1: Due Thursday, Sept 4.

Read sections A.1, A.2 and 1.1 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Choose one problem from each section to carefully write up and hand in. (In section A.2, if you choose #3 please do both parts; but in section 1.1, you may choose any part of #4, or else #8.)

If you have the first printing of the textbook, there is a typographical error in A.2, #5: the definition of h should be h = g o f , and f and g should be interchanged in parts a, b, and c of the problem.

Week 2: Due Thursday September 11.

Read sections 1.2 and A.3 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Write up all answers (assume this from now on).

Week 3: Due Thursday September 18.

Read sections 1.3 and 1.4 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Week 4: Due Thursday September 25.

Read sections 2.1, 2.2 and 2.3 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Week 5: Due Thursday October 2.

Read sections 2.4 and 3.1 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Week 6: Due Thursday October 9.

Review everything we have done so far (everything up to page 99 excluding 2.5) for the test on Tuesday.

Week 7: Due Thursday October 16.

Read sections 3.2 and 3.3 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Week 8: Due Thursday October 23.

Read section 4.1 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Week 9: Due Thursday October 30.

Read section 4.2 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:

Week 10: Due Thursday November 6.

Read sections 5.1 and 5.2 in the textbook, and solve the following problems:
