Plan for Week 2
Week 2 (September 8-12). We will continue studying systems of linear equations. What is new is the use of vector and matrix equations to represent the systems.
Assignment for Wednesday, September 10
Read Sections 1.3 and 1.4. We will discuss Section 1.4 in class on Wednesday.
Write out solutions to the following exercises in Section 1.2.
- 1-3, 5 (For these exercises just find the reduced row echelon form by hand.)
- 7, 10, 12, 15
Write out solutions to the following exercises in Section 1.3:
- 6, 8
- 11 [Hint: Solve the corresponding system of linear equations.]
- 13, 15
