Fine Hall, Princeton

In many ways the tall tower of Fine Hall is a study in what not to do. The small floors have a very isolating effect and shows how the physical space can act to the detriment of a department. The building does have its bright points. The large common room is the centre of intellectual activity. It has many nice nooks off of the common room with small blackboards for informal discussions.

The sciences library and physics, biology and chemistry departments are also located just around the mathematics department.
