Math 104.01 (Linear Algebra)
Spring 1997
Plan for Week 12
This week we have a take-home test on Chapters 3, 4, and 5. In particular,
on Monday we will work in groups on sample problems of a type that might
occur on the take-home test.
On Wednesday, building on what we have learned from Markov chains and Leslie
growth models, we will consolidate our knowledge of how eigenvalues and
eigenvectors contribute to the analysis of discrete linear dynamical systems.
Friday's lab is a continuation of the study of Leslie growth matrices to
take into consideration the effects of harvesting.

Notes:
-
Your next homework papers will be turned in on Monday, April 12. Those papers
should include solutions to all textbook problems in the assignment below.
The assignment dates are start dates.
-
In general, no solution will be given full credit unless you have written
an explanation of why you know it is correct. (No exceptions this
week.)
-
A relatively small number of homework problems will be turned in for this
week -- all assigned for Wednesday. You do not have to do these problems
before or at the same time as the test, but you may find it useful at least
to read them before you work on the test.
-
The second take-home test starts on Wednesday and is due in lab on Friday.
