Electronic Health Record (EHR) Data for Disease Stratification in Mental Health
Abstract:- We are exploring EHR data for patients with two often overlapping mental health conditions. The current phase of this project has involved extracting structured data (demographics, diagnoses, medications, labs, and procedures) from Duke's EHR data warehouse for patients with a specific set of diagnosis codes related to bipolar disorder and schizophrenia. Future phases will incorporate additional criteria such as medications and terms from text notes. In addition, the dataset will be expanded to include free text clinical notes and a de-identified representation of biomedical concepts extracted from those notes.
