Algebra of the relative unipotent completion
Abstract:
In order to study discrete groups (such as fundamental groups) using Hodge theory, one has to first linearize the group. The standard way of doing this is to replace the group by some kind of "algebraic envelope". The purpose of this talk is to give an exposition of the basic properties of a large class of such completions.
