Entropy production and its fluctuations in open Hamiltonian systems systems
Abstract:
In this talk I will show how to construct nonequilibrium stationary states for open classical Hamiltonian systems. Nonequilibrium states are characterized by the existence of flows, for example of energy, or equivalently the positivity of entropy production. I will discuss ergodic properties of the system (Law of Large Numbers, Central Limit Theorem, Large Deviations principle) and discuss the physical implications (Kubo formula & Onsager relations, Gallavotti-Cohen fluctuation theorem).
