Phase Transition in Dispersive Oscillations
Abstract:
It is known that the solution of the KdV equation is oscillatory when the dispersive parameter becomes small. The solution usually has a limit in the weak, i.e. average, sense as the dispersion goes to zero. In this talk, I will discuss the dynamics of this weak limit. I will describe the phase transition phenomenon in the dynamics.
