National Science Digital Library (NSDL). The NSDL is the result of an NSF program of support in place since 2000. The site provides annotated links to over 1,000,000 individual objects. Most of the sites discussed in these resource lists were created or supported by grants from the NSF NSDL project.

MERLOT. MERLOT is a major site, funded by a number of state university systems, with reviews and links to materials in arts, humanities, business. education, science and technology, and mathematics and statistics.

iLumina. The iLumina site is a project of the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. It has annotated links to resources in chemistry, biology, computer science, physics, and mathematics.

CAUSEweb. This is a major site for resources in statistics. The Director of CAUSE is Dennis Perl at Ohio State. The editor for the resources is Roger Woodard at North Carolina State.

NSDL Middle School Portal. This project was started by the Eisenhower National Clearinghouse (ENC) as part of its work with the NSDL. In 2005 ENC lost its DOE funding and was converted into a for-profit enterprise. The Middle School Portal remains in the public domain with components in science, technology, and mathematics. It provides a resource for pre-service teachers (as well as in-service teachers).
