Experiments With the Laplace Transform

Purpose: To study the Laplace transform and use it to examine both an ordinary differential equation problem and a problem for the one-dimensional heat equation on a semi-infinite rod

Prerequisite: Familiarity with the one-dimensional heat equation on a rod of finite length and and an introduction to the Laplace transform. Reference is made to the Fourier transform and to the module Fourier Transform I, but experience with the Fourier transform is not required.
