CCP News

The NSF funding for the Connected Curriculum Project ended in January, 2003. However, we are continuing to maintain and add to the site.

Most of the recent additions have been in the Multivariable Calculus section of CCP. In particular, there are two modules with alternate versions using an applet developed by Frank Wattenberg that enables the user to pick off and list points from a graphical image on the screen:

• The Equiangular Spiral

• Hiking and Climbing in Yosemite

The third issue of MAA's Journal of Online Mathematics and its Applications (JOMA) features the Connected Curriculum Project. [In 2007 JOMA was incorporated into the new online publication Loci.]

In this issue there is an article about the project:

• The Connected Curriculum Project by David Smith and Lang Moore.

and five modules:

• World Population Growth

• The SIR Model for Spread of Disease

• World Class Sprints

• The Equiangular Spiral

• Logistic Growth Module

JOMA also contains two articles by users of the materials:

• Using Connected Curriculum Project Modules in a Differential Equations Course by John Hannah and

• Teaching with Duke's CCP Materials: A User's Perspective by Stepanie Fitchett.
