Tea

It is a tradition in this department that every afternoon, from 4:00 - 4:30, we have afternoon Tea, where cookies, fruits, cakes, vegetables, cheese, sweets, pastries, etc. are served, as well as juice, coffee, and tea. (Of course we don't have all these things on any one afternoon!) This gives everyone a chance for a late afternoon break, to come out of their offices and chat informally with colleagues. It also serves as a good introduction to 4:30 talks.

So, this year, as last, we are asking for one or two people to sponsor each week. To sponsor a week means that you get the food, set it out at 4:00, and clean up (no heavy-duty cleaning required) at 4:30. (There are options for having the staff set out or clean up if you are busy at those times.) The department will reimburse expenses up to a generous amount. For more details, see the Tea Letter.
